Home Health

Responsive web design

Home Health is a responsive web design prototype. With the ability to correspond with care teams, view and add vitals, view, add, and share medication lists, and add assistive devices. Home Health makes healthcare accessible to all.

Accessible healthcare for all

Project Details

  • Designer, researcher, prototyping, wire-framing

  • Healthcare is highly inaccessible to many. Whether it be because of ability, economic issues, distance, or illness, many struggle to find the care they need. Especially after the mass exodus of healthcare workers from the COVID-19 pandemic, it is harder now more than ever to get a doctors appointment.

The solution? Make healthcare more accessible. While this may be a massive undertaking, the problem is solved one step at a time. By creating digital access to care teams, we can grant access to a much larger population.

  • Target Audience would be people between ages 18-40 with access to any kind of device with internet.

Specifically I focused on people with special health considerations such as muscle movement restrictions, deaf, mutes, and the blind.

  • I began brainstorming through paper wireframes. After narrowing down features I thought looked and would function best I created mockups.

  • starting with creating personas for multiple possible users, it allowed me to empathize more with my potential users.

I also conducted competitive audits. I audited other apps/websites such as MyChart, which is a hospital system communications app. The problems I saw in my chart were clutter and lack of accessibility considerations. These became two of my main focuses to set Home Health apart.

  • From the first round of mockups I created a low-fidelity prototype to ensure the app moved and functioned as I envisioned it.

After the first round I began to create my high-fidelity prototype which included adding responsive buttons, colors, typography, and iconography.

  • I began creating the website for a tablet, and secondly created a version for a mobile device such as a smart phone. I felt as though these two devices were the most accessible across the board for those with little access to technology, as well as those needing special health considerations

  • Moving forward, I would love to add more features such as searching for care teams, adding multiple people to one account so that information can be shared with family or care-takers.

Furthermore, I envision creating a version for desktop as well, and conducting usability studies.

High-Fidelity Prototype

Here you can view a demonstration of the High-Fidelity prototype. As I begin my career in UX design I hope to revisit this project and refine it.
